Airfried Jalapeño Poppers are crispy, cheesy and addictive. They are not deep fried, so there is no guilt associated with these. You can enjoy to your hearts content!
Growing up, my mom would get the Costco box of Jalapeño Poppers. There were just stuffed with cream cheese and deep fried. Just pop them in the oven and we would have them as an appetizer or snack. I never liked them, they were too bland and honestly nothing special. The cheese always exploded and there just wasn’t enough flavor for me.
It wasn’t until I started working in a restaurant and they introduced their version of Jalapeño Poppers that made me realize Jalapeño Poppers can be so versatile. I never imagined I would be so impressed by the addition of new flavors in the Jalapeño Popper but here we are!
I wanted to hide the cream cheese in this and use it more like a binder. Sharp cheddar and bacon are the perfect ingredients for this, adding dijon also adds extra sharpness that will enhance the cheddar. These Airfried Jalapeño Poppers are bursting with flavor.
These are great as an appetizer or a side dish, it is impressive enough as a treat or to entertain. Try making these for your next party and your guests will be so happy you did! Enjoy!
Airfried Jalapeño Poppers
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 4 Large Jalapeños
- ½ pkg Cream Cheese softened
- ½ cup Sharp Cheddar freshly grated
- ¼ cup Bacon Bits
- 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- Garlic Salt and Pepper to taste
- Olive Oil drizzle on top
- ½ cup Panko Bread Crumbs
- Cooking Spray
Instructions
- Wash and prepare the jalapeños. Cut the Jalapeños lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and ribs. You will be left with a shallow pepper perfect for stuffing.
- Mix the softened cream cheese, sharp cheddar, bacon, dijon, garlic salt and pepper together. I use a fork and slightly smash the ingredients until combined, it will be very thick.
- Stuff the jalapeños with the cheese mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer at 375F for 5 minutes.
- Drizzle the tops of the cheese with olive oil and dip into the panko breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs into the cheese to get a good crust. I like to use a shallow dish to contain the breadcrumbs.
- Place the finished jalapeños on the air fryer rack and spray with cooking oil.
- Airfry for 16 minutes, they will be crispy and golden brown.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before enjoying.
