I absolutely love naan bread! I can eat it with anything, I’ve even served it on charcuterie boards. This is one of those things that it’s just life changing when you make it for yourself and realize its not that hard and it’s so much better. This naan is light and fluffy, but still has a nice chew to it. Try it, you won’t regret it.

Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Warm Water
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 packet Instant Yeast
- 1 cup AP Flour
- 2 cups Bhatura Flour*
- 1 tsp Salt
- *AP Flour is okay if you can't find Bhatura
-
Garlic Butter: - 4 tbsp Melted Butter
- 2 Garlic Cloves, Crushed
-
Parsley for Garnish
Directions
- Step 1
- In a large bowl, pour water, sugar and sprinkle yeast on top- don’t mix. Let sit for 3-5 minutes, the yeast will look foamy.
- Step 2
- Add the flours and salt. Stir with a wooden spoon and then knead by hand. The dough will be sticky, so only knead until fully incorporated.
- Step 3
- Let the dough rise for 30-45 minutes, it will just about double in size.
- Step 4
- Mix the melted butter and garlic, set aside.
- Step 5
- Turn the dough out onto a floured work space and sprinkle to entire blob with flour. Work the dough into a large ball. Cut the dough into 8 equal triangles, like a pizza.
- Step 6
- Heat a grill or grill pan to medium heat. Very lightly oil the grill/pan.
- Step 7
- While your pan is heating up, flatten the dough by hand into an oval shape. It doesn’t have to be perfect and the naan will not be uniform.
- Step 8
- Grill the naan, each side will take about 3 minutes. You will see the naan bubble up and that’s when you know to flip it.
- Step 9
- Brush the naan with garlic butter and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with anything- curry, soup, charcuterie- I love naan with everything!
