My Charcuterie Cabin is a new dawn of charcuterie board
Apparently the recent verdict is that charcuterie boards are out of style. As a millennial, that is devastating. We fought so hard to have something as nice and fancy as “charcuterie” be our go to appetizer.
The bar was set at what level of intricacy your charcuterie board had. Any event had a charcuterie board that went with it: Baby shower? Wedding? Girls night in? Charcuterie boards were always the answer.
Seriously, it feels like an end of an era.
So if we want to keep our charcuterie boards, we have to get a little creative and disguise our boards into something new. I’m proposing we make cheese spreads and sculpt them into whatever we want. You can get as creative as you see fit by crackers, nuts, dried fruits, olives, you name it.
For the winter holidays, I’m doing a cute little A frame cabin- or a chalet, if you will. This Charcuterie Cabin is so fun to put together and so impressive to look at. I was inspired by traditional gingerbread houses and wanted to do something savory. this way you can actually eat your work instead of letting it get stale and throwing it away!
I could see this being a cute way to tie in any party theme or holiday. Maybe an Egg for Easter, Hearts for Valentines, Pumpkins in Fall… The possibilities are endless.
I’d love to hear what you would make and what you would use to decorate. Let me know in the comments
