Middle Eastern Burek

This Middle Eastern inspired snack is super easy and addictive!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Crumbled Feta
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella
  • 1 tbsp Za'atar
  • Fresh Cracked Pepper to taste
  • 18 Spring Roll Wrappers
  • Neutral Oil to brush the burek

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, mix the feta, mozzarella, za'atar and pepper.
  • Lay out the spring roll wrappers diaganollay, diamond shaped.
  • Place about 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture in the middle of the wrapper. Shape the filling into a line across the middle.
  • Fold the two sides into each other so they are almost touching in the middle. Then, fold the bottom corner over the middle so it is completely covering the cheese and the other corners.
  • Press firmly on the middle, smashing the cheese mixture and roll. Keep the pressure firm to ensure a tightly sealed burek. Seal the edge with a little water.

Air-Fryer

  • Brush with oil evenly and cook on 400 degrees for 5 minutes. The edges will be golden and the wrapper crispy. Serve immediately.

Deep Fry

  • In a medium sized pot, heat 2 inches of oil to medium high heat and fry for 2 minutes on each side. Just until golden and crispy. Serve immediately.
